Farm

These are very healthy-looking weeds and seeing them makes me happy. This might sound crazy to many but it does make me realize what great earth I have that allows these weeds to grow profusely.

This is my farm in Cagayan de Oro City. Don't worry, I tell my workers, we will return the nutrients of these plants back into the soil.

Not as planned

Things rarely go as planned. This has always bothered me and when I was younger, I would attribute it to God not being happy with me and after a while, I got to thinking that it is better not to plan anything at all and just learn to accept things as they come. This of course, is just my ignorance talking. Things do happen as planned but the thing that is uncertain is the timing of it all. Some plans happen much later than we would like them to happen and this can be construed as not being planned at all especially if a long time has elapsed since the plan was hatched.

I suppose there are so many people who have plans and only a small place like the earth for these plans to occur. With 6 billion people having different plans and only a limited space for these plans to happen, it stands to reason that these plans would have to be queued and the first one to ripen would happen as though planned yesterday. So I guess we can expect our plans to happen later than sooner. But, it more people have the same plan then I guess that would speed things up a bit like, if a large number of people wanted a change of government then it would happen much sooner.

Something good, Something bad

There is something good that can be said about wishing and the hope of fulfillment. I had not thought that the idea might not go well with some people. Sometimes the best ideas are those that never see the light of day. They die stillborn without ever even beginning to walk much less fly.

Take a look at these and maybe you will find something that engages your mind and keeps your interest: World - Way - Best - Web - Illusion

Maharlika

Maharlika is a name which is applied to the Philippines and seems to be of Indian origin. There are a number of establishments and institutions which sport this name which tends to lend credence to the idea that this is indeed an old name which characterized the Philippines. Looking over the various ways in which the term is used by many people, I can conclude that there is an affection which is felt for this term by many. Marcos tried to remake the Philippines as Maharlika, an attempt which did not succeed.

I am not sure of its exact meaning but the term as used seems to denote a kind of nobility which is applied to the native population and not to the colonizing Spaniards. There were more derogatory terms like indios that were applied to the natives of this country. The higher-echelon of the Filipinos were called maharlikas before they were relegated to being indios by the Spanish conlonizers.
